Supported by a highly capable team, you’ll have the opportunity to build on well-established relationships and to take on a highly visible advisory role across our 50 member councils. Externally the emphasis is on establishing positive professional relationships – embedding EELGA’s position as a trusted partner, who can consistently add value. Internally you’ll work with your team to identify and maximise commercial opportunities, and ensuring that our resources are utilised in the most efficient and productive manner.
It will suit an individual with an ongoing curiosity into how local government works, and a commitment to achieving the very best outcomes for local communities. Politically astute and experienced, you’ll be someone who can win the trust and confidence of others and broker positive results through collaboration. We expect that you’ll have a proven track record in local government leadership; a well-informed understanding of the current and emerging agenda; and the communication skills required to advise, influence and broker at the highest level.
